Deep crimson in colour. An inviting aroma with a soft mellow tone, on offer are perfumed blackberries and rose garden, underlying tar and liquorice accents add further to the complexity. A relatively accessible mouthful of young VP, chewy blackberry and black cherry fruits allied to earth tones and a dash of anise. The finish is of pleasing length with firm acid and drying, grainy tannins. Tasted June/99
