Review:Very grapey in style, with hints of violet and floral character. Medium-bodied and medium sweet, with fruit and wet earth on the finish. A bit rustic. Drink now.

Notes:I think I got a better bottle! Deep, deep ruby in color with not a hint of diminishment on the rim. Muted bouquet, very closed, but hinting of a powerful and balanced wine within. A powerful LBV, great balance and great depth and concentration of flavor. Deep dark fruits and plums. A modern style LBV, but still fresh. Great, much better than the Wine Spectator rating of 83. I wouldn’t rate it in the nineties, but the high eighties easily.

Notes:Definately needed to breath, but even after that this wasn't a very tasty LBV. The Tayler's 1994 LBV is a much better buy.

Disappointing Dow

Definately needed to breath, but even after that this wasn't a very tasty LBV. The Tayler's 1994 LBV is a much better buy.Posted on Apr 30, 2001
