Vintage Year Discussion

    Subject:1985 port
    Year:1985
Hi, I'm a complete novice, so please be patient. The men in my family are all Royal Navy and consequently are inclined to drink rather a lot of port. My youngest son is due to pass out from Dartmouth Royal Naval College next month and I would like to get him some port from his birth year i.e. 1985. What would you recommend for drinking in 5 to 10 years time......yes I am thinking about weddings/christenings etc!. Thanks.Posted on May 24, 2007

You're son is in luck. 1985 happens to be an excellent year. Any vintage port from that year should be fine. If you're in London, pop by Berry Brothers & Rudd on St James's street (www.bbr.com). They have Warre's, Dow's, Graham's, Taylor's and Fonseca in stock. All very good ports that should hold for many many years.Posted on May 26, 2007

We want pictures of things that date to 1933. That could include the house where you lived in 1933, or a car from 1933, the class of 1933, or your grandpa in 1933. You may have coins minted in 1933, or 1933 stamps, or the sewing machine that grandma bought in 1933.

    please visit here and enjoy.

I can also recomend the 1985 from Kopke.
They are experts in Colheitas, but this Vintage is really outstanding..
