Wine Tasting Note
Subject:
10 year Tawny Porto from W. & J. Graham's
Wine:
2001 Graham Late Bottled Vintage
I recieved this as a gift and was wondering if anyone could tell me something about this particular bottle. ie. how to drink it (chilled or not), and with what (fruits, chocolates, cheeses). Also I would like to know the relative price. The bottle says it was bottled in
2001
. If I leave it in the bottle will it continue to age and taste better as a result. Thank you for considering these questions.

Tawny Port should be drank at room temperature and not chilled. Tawny Port is sweet but is missing the pepper taste that Vintage Port has but it is still good to eat with chocolate, strong cheeses and a good cigar.
Leaving it in the bottle will not age it since it is a Tawny Port and not a Vitnage Port which is the only Port type to continue to age in its bottle. Ac
Tua
lly it is better to drink the Tawny within the first year or two since it doesn't last that long. Dated Tawny Ports (10, 20, 30 and 40 year old) are typically better tasting since they have been aging in large barrels and will usually last longer than traditional Ports.
